Christmas (4)

Our fourth celebration day of our Christmas Extravaganza (as we called it) was Christmas day!  Can I just say it was probably the best Christmas we have had?  It was beautiful.  The white crystals were falling from the sky as we left Christmas Eve service, the kids all fell asleep on the way home that night and we transferred them into their beds, and they slept in until we woke them up at 8:00 Christmas morning.  All this set the Christmas stage very well.

After getting the kids up to see what Santa brought, we let them play for a little bit, then changed our clothes and hurried over to Papa and Nana's to see what Santa brought there!  The kids were amazed by it all this Christmas.  Such a treat for us to watch.

The day consisted of presents, the kids happily playing all.day.long, games, food, visiting, laughter, laying on the couch, and just being together.  The snow fell perfectly, and although the joke of the day was that we were inside a snowglobe, it really wasn't a joke at all.  It felt magnificent.

Christmas morning.

All the people and gifts at Papa and Nana's.

Layla and Cora got twin babies and baby buggies.  They played all the day long together.  It was precious, watching the mommies together!

Busy at work!

See?  The snow globe.

Dallas (and all the guys) got a remote control helicopter.  Ruby LOVED watching this.  When he quit, she would look around for it.  So cute!

Games, games, games.

The grandsons playing Papa's favorite childhood game.  Sweet times.

It was the Christmas of eating gifts for Ruby.  :)

Cutest Joseph and Mary I've ever seen!
The cast of the nativity.  This is a tradition Erica got started, and we love it!  Papa is the narrator every year, and the kids switch roles.  It's not perfectly put together, and we giggle as the animals wander around, but it is precious and brings us back to why we are all gathered together on Christmas day.  We look forward to seeing the play every year, and have assured them they will still be performing it at the age of 18.  Smile, kids. :)
Merry Christmas!
